Universidad de Murcia (UMU)


The University of Murcia (UMU) is a large university with approximately 36,000 students and 3,000 staff members. For the Faculty of Computer Science, the Intelligent Systems and Telematics Group, from the Department of Information and Communications Engineering will be participating in this project. This group with more than 40 members has experience in most of the current topics being covered by the PALANTIR project. Its members have been working in more than 30 research projects in the last few years, being more than 50% of them funded by the European Commission. Relevant to the project, UMU has been working in different aspects such as cybersecurity, software-based networks, Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms and datasets, and GDPR compliance, among others, as part of the different national and international research projects and collaborations where its members have been participating in the last few years.

Roles in the project

  • Intelligent event/alert processing and decision-making on countermeasures to mitigate cyber threat effects
  • Applying selective countermeasures through SDN/NFV-enabled security services
  • Leading the development and implementation of security services for SMEs and MEs
  • Contribution to the threat and attack surface analysis, as well as to the threat classification and remediation elements
